EDP

EDP strives to attain a level of performance above industry standard for league and tournament administrators. EDP offers clubs a strong competitive league bracket with minimal travel, developmentally-appropriate opposition and a maximum average goal differential of 2.0.

The goal of the league is to provide a 'Good Game Every Week' in order to maintain elite performance standards amongst young players from U9-U23.

More than just a league...

EDP was started by a core group of "elite" clubs in Region 1. Our mission was to provide a development-friendly arena of competition where coaches can operate in a congenial and mutually-supportive environment to develop players who aspire the to the highest levels of play - College, Pro and International, etc.

Working with MSSL, they were able to establish these flights for the U13 and U14 boys groups for the 2010-11 year, but from the beginning the intention was to expand to include girls, and a full range of age groups.

Thanks to the success of the first year, there were EDP flights for Boys and Girls U12-U17 in 2011-12. This coverage expanded to U11-U18 for 2012-13.

Most EDP Boys First Division teams, and selected Girls teams from both divisons are members of US Club's "NPL" family of premier programs.

EDP's mission is to serve respected clubs whose teams need a higher level of competition to develop their players than is available to them locally. The program is administered by MSSL - a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of youth soccer.

Philosophy and Mission

EDP exists to support soccer programs in the region which are professionally-managed with player development as their primary focus, and thereby to support the growth of soccer in the United States. We seek to work with clubs that, while competing with each other, are ready to be part of a congenial and mutually-supportive group that works together to promote the game and serve the needs of high potential players.

We believe that for soccer to grow we must be successful in encouraging the maximum of talented athletes to choose soccer as their primary sport. EDP clubs are dedicated to that end.

MNJYSA

What is MNJYSA?
The Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (MNJYSA) is a soccer league incorporated to provide competition for youth teams. The league is an organization of affiliated clubs. These clubs have voting power to elect league officers and amend the constitution and bylaws. MNJYSA is one of fifteen youth leagues in New Jersey. The majority of the Hillsborough Soccer Club teams are registered in this league.

Who schedules the games and when?
The league games are played in the Fall and the Spring. Before each season, MNJYSA arranges game schedules and flights for the upcoming season.

In the Spring season, the Full sided flight winners continue into playoff games with other flights at their level to produce a division champion. There are no playoffs in the Fall season. U8 games are typically scheduled on Saturdays. U9 and above typically play games on Sundays with makeup games being scheduled on Saturdays but it varies due to weather and field cancellations.
